What Is a Reverse Video Player?

A reverse video player flips the playback order of a clip so the last frame plays first and time appears to run backwards. The Japanese term 逆再生 (gyaku saisei) is what creators on TikTok and YouTube Shorts search for when they want to publish a clean reversed clip.

Frame-Accurate Reversal
True reverse playback rebuilds the video from the last frame to the first. A simple HTML5 'playbackRate = -1' does not work cross-browser; you need real frame reordering.
All Local, No Upload
BibiGPT's reverse video player will run in your browser using ffmpeg.wasm. Your clip never leaves your device — perfect for personal footage, work-in-progress edits, and sensitive content.

How It Will Work

Three steps once the tool ships. We will email waitlist users on launch day.

1
Drop in Your Video
Drag an MP4, MOV, or WebM clip into the tool. Processing runs locally — your video never uploads.
2
Preview Reversed Playback
Watch the reversed clip inline. Optionally trim before reversing, or keep audio reversed too.
3
Download or Edit Further
Export the reversed clip or send it straight into BibiGPT's other tools — speed change, GIF export, frame grab.

Who Uses Reverse Video

Reverse playback is a creative tool, an analysis tool, and a meme tool — popular across short-form and educational creators.

TikTok & Shorts Creators

Reverse a fall, a spill, or a jump cut for the classic 'unwind' effect. The 逆再生 trend has been a steady source of views on Japanese-language Shorts for years.

Sports & Form Review

Coaches and athletes review motion in reverse to spot footwork, balance, and recoil details that get lost in forward playback.

Educational Demonstrations

Run a chemistry mix, a physics drop, or a melt animation in reverse to show 'how it un-happens' — a classic teaching trick that still works.

What Waitlist Members Say They Need

Real comments from early Japanese, Korean, and English signups.

Most-requested video tool of the past three months

“I shoot a lot of 逆再生 transitions for my TikTok. Most online tools watermark or force upload. A clean browser-only one would be my default.”

Yuki M.

Short-Form Creator (JP)

“We review batting form clip-by-clip and reversing them helps a lot. Sending video to a random server is a hard no for school accounts.”

Coach Sun-woo K.

High School Sports Coach (KR)

“I just want to play a clip backwards without installing anything. Sounds simple but every site I tried wanted my email first.”
